As you all probably already know that i and chin wen attended a PLC day camp (no, daddy day care) that was organized by Ming Han, so I will leave out some of the non-important details.
Alright, here we go.
1st day - Starting of daddy day care.
We started to erect the flag pole and put the flag into its proper place. Then Ke Han, who was very enthu, decided that he wanted to raise and lower the flag for that day. So, after a couple of mistakes, everything was done. I also remember Haziq or Ming Han asking ("PERMISSION TO FLAG BREAK, SIR!") , not so loud, on the phone to Mr Shen.
Ok, so today was the day of outdoor activities and we completely didn't know about this horrible day. Ming Han, first taught us on orienteering and exploration. (standard and advanced, heh :D) So after he taught us he gave us a test. One by one, it was rather easy. So, he told us to go out and draw a map from BPGHS to the mosque and ten mile junction. I was in Zheng Yu and Emsaiful's group. As they were very experienced, and helpful, it was only about 20-30 mins before we completed it. Ming Han gave us 1 hr and 15 mins if i'm not wrong. Then Chin Wen's group, for some reason, went to McD. Then they got scolded and Chin Wen didn't bring his food , so he could not pass his advanced outdoor cooking test. By the way, I've just developed a new cooking style on my own and so has Chin Wen. Chin Wen's style is to use the ember to heat the maggi mee and it still is hot enough! Quite amazing. My style is to put the twigs around the leaves, then the bricks are about 1 twig apart. So i put about 4 twigs on the bricks (hanging, you can imagine) to literally cook like 'satay'. This really helps in maintaining the fire as once the fire hits the four twigs then the fire will be maintained while i throw in more leaves or twigs. I cooked a balanced diet for myself (outdoor cooking would be our lunch for that day) consisting of egg noodles, fishballs, baby carrots, and baby
kailan. Ming Han tasted my satay style of cooking and praised me, he said "Very good, your cooking very good, Jian Wei. You pass." Then I was like, "yipppee!"
After outdoor cooking and our lunch, I think we began our footdrill test. It was sucky. After a long time and about 20 push ups, then we were tested on our voices (how loud). Man, I was standing beside Haziq, and my ears almost burst. After that,
bersu rai and we were told to clean up and tidy and do whatever was good for the Scout Den. Emsaiful, my PL decided to make a clothes rack. So we tied the poles together. (don't know what you call them , bamboo?)
Oh yea, a tiring day followed by a rest before the next day.
2nd day of Daddy Day Care.
Flag break again, this time very smooth going as Emsaiful was the one raising the flag. Then Ming Han, say today will be filled with indoor activities!! Woohoo! Mostly about theory. Knots was not included as we will be taking advanced and standard knots test already in the first-class pioneering. We might be in the pioneering unit as well. In 8 hours, 2 towers and a bridge. And our proud members are, Chin Wen, Haziq, Guang Jie, Jonathan, Ke Han, Ming Han and me. We were taught the advanced first aid and stuff, but sadly i failed due to wrong tying of the arm sling. Actually, if not for the arm sling i pass. haiz. Chin Wen passed his first aid as his examiner was Victor, a very kind venture. Then I ate maggi noodles (can be ordered from the drink stall uncle during break time) The break times were long and often, so I gratefully thank Ming Han as we played basketball sometimes during the break. Then we were told to design a spa shack for the 150 - 200 spas Ming Han was going to buy for the first-class thing (i think). Emsaiful's was the best idea, we decided and Ming Han made it a prototype. Then we went for lunch ! woohoo! 1hr 30 minutes! More than enough time. So we played basketball during the remaining 1 hr after we ate our lunch at Teck Whye McD. After that Ming Han talked about the responsibilities that a leader must have, a leader must give respect to the members and then earn respect. And then about 2 hrs of confidential stuff that as you already know, PLC members can know. So that was the end of Daddy Day Care after
