DSSC
A new day, a new event. But i find it totally pointless. This year's inaugural District Scout Skills Competition, was sad to say, a waste of time. Although we bagged 2nd , 2nd and 1st out of 4 events, (the last event we didnt even send proper people), we should have gotten 1st for everything, and I could not emphasize the point more.
If disqualification equates to not attending the event anymore, then I see no point in even planning for it. It makes it unfair for the rest of the teams.
I mean like, honesty and integrity. These two values were obviously not showcased in the vents.
As long as we know we are the winners, then never mind..
Shall not go on ranting about the bad stuff...
This year's 2.4km run was disappointing, as I deproved by approximately 30 seconds, which is very bad. I mean, 10:27 is barely the A grade, and what's more losing to Yew Shen by 1 second!? I know inertia is a factor in this but I didn't know it helped so much. I should try to gain weight.
Sadly speaking, this year's NAPFA, the only problem is chin-ups. Apparently, the rest of the stations should have no problem. I need to get perfect score at least once. I mean like, last 3 years, 27, 28 and 29 scores respectively? Unacceptable. Perfection is a must before I graduate from this school.
In addition to this, A Squared programme is basically self-study with help. However weird that might sound, it is actually true. The good thing about it is there is plenty of food to go around, more than enough, thanks to the PSG for preparing it.
The handover is nearing, and it means that I must achieve at least one of the goals I made. At least Standard for the whole Troop before I leave. That way, the 2008 batch will forever be remembered for Frank Cooper Sands Gold and that as well. However, that does not mean it is only us that helped. The leaders have their legs on the boat as well, and really helped a lot.
I certainly hope that the 2009 batch can maintain that Gold, and bring our Troop to greater heights. Of course, I believe in their capability.
However, that being said, it is time to study. If there is no 8 As, no matter how many CCA points I have it is useless.
